Working student (f/m/d) Quarry Life Award Coordinator

Making a positive contribution to biodiversity is one of the core pillars of Heidelberg Materials’ 2030 Sustainability Commitments. The QLA (Quarry Life Award) is the most comprehensive biodiversity effort in the building materials industry. It is a scientific and education competition and takes place every three years at national and international levels. Its aim is to raise the awareness of the ecological value of extraction sites and sharing new best practices. Enhancing biodiversity across our operations constitutes a core element of our approach to using land responsibly.

As we are launching our next version of the QLA, the ESG (Environmental Social Governance) team is seeking a Working Student (f/m/d) to project manage marketing communications that support the implementation of the QLA globally. This person will be one of the main contact for QLA national coordinators around the world.

Your next challenge

  • Work with Sr. Manager Biodiversity, Nature Conservation & Water and Sr. Manager Sustainability Engagement to develop comprehensive marketing communications plan. This marketing communications plan will be rolled out at both a global level, and individual country level; it will include both digital and print materials such as core messaging, web pages, winners’ brochures, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Work with digital agency to update the QLA web pages to reflect the new edition of the QLA; work with participating countries to ensure web pages meet country needs.
  • Work with digital agency to oversee the design and production of marketing communication materials.
  • Write and design key communications such as newsletters, social media posts, working with our global communications team.
  • Act as key contact for and interface with countries to ensure they are able to adapt global materials to their countries.
  • Monitor GDPR-compliant implementation of the QLA.

Your profile

  • University degree in communication, business, marketing/PR, web design, or a comparable course of study
  • Digital marketing skills (web page production, graphic files experience; experience working with digital agencies/design agencies)
  • IT skills: Microsoft Office, familiarity with Drupal, basic graphic design skills
  • Familiarity with design software and basic video editing skills a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: Juggle tasks and priorities, while maintaining a sharp eye for detail and quality
  • Outstanding collaboration skills: Work in an international, multicultural environment, Work confidently with different job functions and levels, Work smoothly with an external agency
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, spoken) in English and German; French skills are a plus
