Global Team Leader (f/m/d) Direct Consumables Sourcing

The Global Team Leader (f/m/d) Direct Consumables Sourcing oversees all operational expenditure (OPEX) procurement categories, leading and engaging with Global Category Leaders/Managers for Performance Additives, Explosives & Refractories and taking ownership of Packaging & Castings (Mill Internals and Grinding Media), supported by a dedicated Global Category Manager and the Beijing Sourcing Office. Additionally, a key task is to further develop OPEX spend management, including MRO and services.

Your next challenge

• Leading and managing the OPEX procurement team, including Group Category Leaders and Category Managers, to ensure effective execution of procurement strategies
• Developing and implementing global category strategies for OPEX spend areas such as Performance Additives, Explosives, Refractories, Packaging, and Mill Internals
• Collaborating with other teams, such as CAPEX procurement, to identify synergies and opportunities for cost savings across the organization
• Taking ownership of specific OPEX categories, such as Packaging and Castings, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyzing OPEX spend data and identifying areas for optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement. Ability to develop strategies, and execute sourcing initiatives
• Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts for OPEX goods and services.
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, such as technicians, operations and finance teams, to understand their requirements and priorities
• Tracking record of delivering measurable outcomes and achieving targets
• Monitoring supplier performance and compliance with contracts and addressing any issues or concerns proactively. Compliance and risk management
• Keeping abreast of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes that may impact OPEX procurement strategies
• Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the OPEX procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Procurement processes optimization

Your profile

• Master Degree or Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Technical Studies
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Category Management working with cross-functional teams, preferably in the building materials industry
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams, coaching, and stakeholder management
• Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation in a demanding environment
• Strong verbal and written skills for effective communication and negotiation with various stakeholders
• Ability to spot opportunities, drive organizational change and overcome resistance
• Accountability, resilience, autonomy, and strong leadership
• Fluent in English, written and spoken (any other language an advantage)
