Pitcher Park Memorial Skatepark

The community of Carnegie, Pennsylvania, USA, undertook a grassroots effort to build a skate park as a memorial to honor the brothers, Vincent and Stephen Pitcher, two local skateboard and BMX enthusiasts who drowned in a 2008 accident.

Designed by Grindline Skateparks, the park is a 17,000 sq. ft. (1,600 m2) concrete skatepark used by skateboarders, BMX riders, and inline skaters.

The Tony Hawk Foundation supported the efforts of the community project with a 10,000 USD grant.

The Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association selected ready-mixed concrete from HeidelbergCement’s US subsidiary for the project.
