Heidelberg Materials has been active in Malaysia since the acquisition of Hanson in August 2007. Hanson Malaysia is the largest producer of quality aggregates and asphalt, and has a leading market position in ready-mixed concrete. It has 1,800 employees and contractors throughout Malaysia. Hanson Malaysia operates 15 strategically well-located quarries producing aggregates throughout Malaysia, 16 asphalt plants, and 45 ready-mixed concrete plants serviced by approximately 340 mixer trucks.

Hanson has been operating in Malaysia since 1992. It has supplied building materials to many iconic projects such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Sungai Prai Bridge in Penang, Putrajaya Precinct, 359 kms of MMC-Gamuda’s Electrified Double Track Rail Project, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), and Light Rail Transit (LRT).

Hanson Malaysia’s head office is located in Subang Jaya, Selangor. Geographically, the operations are divided into four main areas, namely: Central, North, South, and East, with regional offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuantan.
