The port of Jorf Lasfar is one of the biggest in Morocco, and located on the Atlantic coast south-west of the city of El Jadida. It is a commercial port and a hub for phosphate, fertilizers, and other chemicals.

The expansion of Jorf Lasfar Port started in 2012, and is being carried out by our customer Archirodon for OCP S.A (Office Cherifien des Phosphates) and ONEE (Office National de l’Eau et de l’Electricité). OCP is the world's largest exporter of phosphates.

The project will expand existing OCP docks capacity to 2,305 m (vs. 1,050 m currently), while increasing the docks capacity of regional energy utility ONEE to 600 m (vs. 180 m currently). The expansion will be achieved through installation of 385 diaphragm walls, 1,385 piles, and 60 caissons.

HeidelbergCement’s subsidiary Ciments du Maroc delivered 60,000 tonnes of marine cement and 230,000 m3 of marine concrete for the project.
