Headquarters of Caisse d'Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes

Caisse d'Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes (CEAPC) has built a new representative headquarters as part of the Euratlantique urban development project with more than 10,000 m2 of office space in the heart of Bordeaux.

In the direct neighbourhood of future "House for Creative Industries and Culture" (Meca), the building named Atlantica was designed by Mariano Efron of the architectural office Cabinet AS Architecture Studio in Paris. It welcomes the 450 CEAPC employees in an untreated, bright concrete with transparent facades. A symbol for the company's values: solidity, transparency and innovation.

The building first had to be embedded in a foundation that had become unstable due to its proximity to the River Garonne. More than 2,000 m3 of itech ULTRACEM concrete were poured into 30 meter deep borehole piles. With this foundation, which exceeds the groundwater level, the building could then grow upwards. The 3.70 meter high facade components made of bright concrete, also developed with i.tech ULTRACEM, were left untreated inside the building according to the architect's vision.

With 1,200 square meters of photovoltaic modules, the Atlantica meets the criteria for positive energy buildings. Consistently sustainable, the building obtains 95% of its heating energy from waste combustion.
