Senior Project Manager (f/m/d) for large investment projects in the cement industry

The Heidelberg Competence Centers Cement (CCCs) are responsible for the development and execution of all major or complex capex projects.

For our Competence Center Cement (CCC) Europe we are looking for a Senior Project Manager (f/m/d) for large investment projects in the cement industry. The Engineering Europe/AEM department is responsible for the areas Western and Southern Europe (WSE), Northern and Eastern Europe-Central Asia (NEECA) and Africa-Eastern Mediterranean Basin (AEM).

As a Senior Project Manager, you will develop, manage, and lead midsize and large-scale capex projects enforcing and living Heidelberg Materials' mission of zero accidents and maximum environmental sustainability while at all time maintaining quality, budget, and time for completion.

Your place of work will be Heidelberg, Germany, and you will report to the Head of Engineering CCC Europe.

Your next challenge

  • You will be a key to the success of our project execution in a strong experienced multicultural team
  • You conduct scenario assessments and studies for midsize and large-scale investment projects (20-60m EUR)
  • You calculate investment budgets for midsize and large-scale projects for different stages
  • You manage midsize and large-scale investment projects
  • You conduct cost and time controlling, project status reporting as well as steering committee reporting
  • You evaluate technical and commercial offers and select suppliers
  • You lead the procurement and contracting process
  • You proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance

Your profile

  • You have a university degree in engineering or equivalent
  • You have at least 8 years of professional experience in the cement industry
  • You have demonstrated experience of leading midsize and large-scale investment projects (20-60m EUR) in an international environment; work experience in foreign countries is required
  • You have a wide knowledge in cement plant engineering and operation
  • You have very good English skills, additional language skills are an advantage
  • You are willing to extensively travel abroad
  • You have sound risk management skills
