Portfolio Manager Power & Gas (f/m/d)

As Portfolio Manager Power & Gas you will support us to manage and optimize one of the most decisive and dynamic cost category and therefore securing the competitiveness of HeidelbergCement.

As member of our Central Power & Gas Procurement team you will be located in our Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, and report directly to the Head of Group Energy Procurement. Your next challenge

  • Provide market intelligence to the business lines for several energy markets globally
  • Tender/negotiate together with Country Procurement Managers power and gas supply contracts with access to local power and gas markets for spot and forward products
  • Define strategy, plan and execute hedges on basis of HC Forward Buying Policy / Risk Guideline
  • Support further development of HC Forward Buying Policy / Risk Guideline
  • Support energy reporting on local and Group level for quarterly Management Meetings, Board Seminars and Investor Relations meetings

Your profile

  • University degree in business administration, information technology, engineering or similar
  • Strong conceptual & analytical skills
  • Deep energy market know-how on power and natural gas especially in Europe, on various exchanges and hubs and related trading possibilities (OTC / Exchange)
  • Experience in energy procurement / portfolio-management and good negotiation skills
  • Ability to achieve acceptance and to communicate professionally with partners, suppliers, country managers and colleagues in different areas and at different hierarchies
  • Ability to work in a self-motivated and flexible way towards agreed objectives
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Result-oriented, especially regarding the implementation of new processes and organizational changes
  • Readiness for geographical mobility and travel
  • Good oral and written skills in English
  • Intercultural understanding and the ability to work in an international team
  • Service orientation
  • Exchange trader licence might be a plus
