Human Rights Expert (f/m/d)

We are currently setting up a comprehensive global compliance management system for human rights due dilligence and reporting.

Therefore, we are seeking to recruit a Human Rights Expert (f/m/d) to strengthen our human rights compliance.

In this position you will be empowered to drive human rights enforcement in the entire HeidelbergCement Group and bring it to the next level. Key to your success will be the cross-departmental collaboration on Group and country level, providing you with valuable insights into HeidelbergCement’s business and operations.

You will be part of the Group Compliance & Data Protection team and report directly to the Head of Compliance & Data Protection. The position is located in Heidelberg, Germany.

Your next challenge

  • Steer and administrate the human rights compliance management system (e.g. policies, risk assessments and risk mitigation, reporting, trainings, case management, etc.)
  • Provide guidance for the successful global roll-out of the human rights management system and its efficient implementation in Germany
  • Support and consult globally in human rights compliance cases and issues
  • Ensure a coordinated and structured human rights compliance management in collaboration with human rights stakeholders of various Group departments including Group Procurement, Environmental Social Governance, Human Resources and Health & Safety
  • Ensure competent external and internal communication on human rights topics in collaboration with Group Communications and Investor Relations

Your profile

  • University degree in e.g., law, social sciences, humanities, etc.
  • Profound knowledge and at least three years professional experience around human rights management at a corporate company, NGO, or well-known consultancy firm
  • Strong interdisciplinary work ability and team-orientation
  • Enthusiasm to gain deep insights into global corporate processes
  • Intercultural awareness and diplomatic skills
  • Outstanding personal integrity and trustworthiness
  • Very good German and English language skills
