General Scope:
Forming part of Cumbria County Council's committed plan for recovery and recycling of domestic waste materials this project is for the construction of a new household waste recycling centre with another three similar facilities to follow.
• Ground improvement works by means of vibro piles and a surcharge of granular material.
• Foul and surface water drainage plus the installation of two interceptor tanks.
• Insitu reinforced concrete retaining walls, pre-cast concrete retaining walls and pre-cast concrete stairs.
• Imported fill to achieve a split level site plus extensive kerbing and macadam surfacing to form roadways.
• Steel framed canopy structure with metal clad roof to cover offloading area.
• Rainwater harvesting plant attached to canopy.
• Extensive concrete hard standing on CBM formation plus associated expansion and contraction joints, in skip loading area plus associated bollards and bump protection.
• Lighting to canopy and external lighting to roadways plus CCTV system and associated ductwork and draw pits.
• Palisade security fencing and gates plus greeters hut.
• Portakabin Office facility plus service connections.
• Lining works, signage and landscaping works to complete the installation.
