All of our products are produced in accordance with the latest standards and regulations and we operate rigorous quality management and quality control procedures. Quality assurance Our bricks are produced at ISO 9001 certified manufacturing sites under strict quality management and quality control procedures. And, we also hold BSI Registered firm status. BS EN 771-1 BS EN 771-1 is the current standard for Clay Masonary Units / Bricks. Durability - Classifications for durability designation and active soluble salts content are separately classified. A brick described as "F2" means that it is suitable for severe exposure. Dimensions - All bricks are sold with two categories known as Dimensional Tolerances. These tolerances are defined as T for tolerance of mean value and R for Range classification. There are a number of classifications, in most cases T2 R1 is be the most common classification. In order to determine compliance the use of specially calibrated instruments to accurately measure the length, width and height of a brick are used. Visual acceptability - P.A.S 70 provides guidance on how to assess visual acceptability. This document emphasizes it is the overall brickwork and not individual units that should be assessed, in essence, if a chip or blemish is not visible from 3 metres it should be deemed acceptable. CE marking and Kitemark All of our clay bricks bear the CE mark as well as the British Standards Institution Kitemark. CE marking denotes conformity to BS EN 771-1 however, CE marking is not currently a legal requirement of product sales/use within the UK. Download our Brick CE Mark Certificates
