Evalite
Medium density blocks perfect for use in the majority of standard applications. These include partition walls, infill blocks in beam and block flooring systems and externally where a finish is applied. They are also perfect for use as the inner leaf of cavity walls when used with secondary insulation.
Acoustics
Evalite Background blocks offer excellent sound insulation properties. When laid to form a cavity sound separating wall, they will achieve the required mass as given in the Building Regulations and Robust Details.
Exposed conditions Evalite Background blocks are a robust product which can be used in exposed conditions*. 7.3 N/mm² products are also suitable for use in aggresive soil conditions. Please contact our Product Services department for further details.
Flooring Evalite Background blocks are suitable as in-fill blocks for beam and block flooring systems. They should be specified as ‘for flooring’, in order that the correct manufacturing base is sourced.
Thermal
Evalite Background blocks, in conjunction with suitable thicknesses of insulation, are able to reach high levels of thermal insulation.
Fire
Concrete is an excellent fire resistant material. Evalite Background blocks are manufactured using Class 1 aggregates which provide the highest level of fire resistance for a given size.
*7.3 N/mm² strengths and above should be specified if blocks are to be used unprotected on the outer leaf, below dpc. In all other normal situations, 3.6 N/mm² blocks would be suitable.
