Hanson Bath and Portland stone are one of the oldest suppliers of natural limestone and masonry products in the UK.

Cotswold stone

In the heart of the Cotswolds Guiting quarry has been worked on for over 150 years.
Limestone found in the Cotswolds is from around 150 million years ago when the area was once below the sea.

Bath stone

Bath Stone has been used as a building material since Roman times. The most significant use of bath stone was in the 18th and 19th centuries. John Wood and Beau Nash developed the classic Georgian city of Bath.

In 1908 Bath and Portland Stone was formed from the Bath Stone Firms. The Bath stone Firms were made up of seven companies and came about in 1887. In 1889 the Bath Stone Firms took over Portland quarries.
