Local stone from Hanson Bath & Portland Stone’s Hartham Park underground quarry was the natural choice for the new Crest Nicholson housing development in a Bath conservation area.
The development, called the Forum, comprises 75 properties of two-and three-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom town houses constructed in Bath stone ashlar blocks. The buildings follow either classical Georgian, Regency or Victorian styles, reflecting local architecture and are formally arranged in tree-lined roads and mews, set around a central square planted with oaks.
Contractor Stokes Masonry worked from block stone supplied by Hanson Bath & Portland Stone to manufacturers all masonry and carried out all stone installation and detailing.
The high level of external and internal finish achieved has meant the entire development has quickly been sold out.
