Reduced water consumption

Manufacturing a major consumer of water
Vast quantities of water is needed to produce concrete. Water is also used for cleaning trucks and plants. What is left is waste water containing concrete residues.

Betongindustri is taking major steps to reduce the consumption and to recycle water in all parts of the production process.

Less water in circulation
Betongindustri strives to use water economically, for instance by washing trucks only when necessary. Water consumption has been reduced by two-thirds since conventional rinsing pumps have been replaced with high pressure rinsing.

Recycling
Surface water is utilised in most of our plants. But, above all, process water is recycled. Water, together with sand, gravel and concrete residues, is purified in a facility to such extent that it can be reused in the production process.
