For many years HeidelbergCement holds market leading positions in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania and continues to invest in these attractive markets with strong growth rates. In the recent years one of our most important markets with strong double-digit growth rates has become the CIS region where we continuously invest in existing and new production capacities.

In Russia, HeidelbergCement operates a cement plant in Cesla, Slantsy (150 km west of St. Petersburg), an aggregates and precast production site in Novogurovskiy (50 km north of Tula) and cement terminals in Kaliningrad and Murmansk. In Tula oblast, we are currently building a new cement plant with an annual capacity of 2 million tons. Besides these operation sites, HeidelbergCement Russia has offices in Moscow (Country Management), in St. Petersburg (Sales and Administration of Cesla Cement and Roscem) and in Podolsk (Technical Center, Central Administration Functions).

In order to achieve a strong market position HeidelbergCement will continue to increase its production capacity in Russia through further acquisitions and greenfield projects.
