Sustainability
Our products are part of everyday life. Our products have high thermal mass and longevity and provide flexibility of construction. They are used to build homes, roads, hospitals, schools and places of work and to provide clean drinking water and effective sewerage systems.
Building materials are a key resource for developing a sustainable society, but the industry we are in also carries a number of responsibilities - to the environment, to the communities in which we operate and, most importantly, to the safety of our workforce.
Our environment, workplace, community and education programmes are designed to provide a safe working environment for our employees and to minimise the impact of our operations on the communities in which we operate.
We are committed to the principles of sustainable development and work to high standards. We demonstrate our responsibilities in many ways: how we run our business, develop new products and manage and restore our sites.
We purchase a large number of products and services and we are committed to ethical sourcing through regular assessment of our supply chain.
