With the takeover of Hanson in 2007, HeidelbergCement undertook a reorientation of its Group strategy. Similar management cultures characterised by openness, honesty, rapid implementation and proactive decision-making facilitated the union of the two companies and their employees. The companies are a match in terms of their fundamental corporate values. This includes an appreciation of responsible corporate governance. Today, these shared values bind our locations together despite the different cultures. Uniform guidelines form the basis for our entrepreneurial activity.
Guidelines for our actions
We have made a commitment to transparent and fair corporate governance by introducing our Corporate Governance Principles. The Principles are closely aligned with the recommendations of the German Corporate Governance Code. The Code sets our ethical standards for day-to-day business in concrete terms: These include observing the laws, fair competition, dealing responsibly with customers, suppliers and employees, and avoiding conflicts of interest. Together with our Leadership Principles, these guidelines represent the Group-wide framework for our responsible and sustainable entrepreneurial activity.
