Local responsibility

Our principle is that local employees are responsible for local management, and that local suppliers and service providers are used. In this way, our economic activities contribute to creating value at the respective locations. As a corporate citizen, we are involved locally and thus strengthen our business locations.

Corporate Citizenship Guidelines
Our Corporate Citizenship Guidelines are oriented towards our core business. We are involved in three areas in which we possess know-how and are able to achieve the best results for the community:

  • Building, architecture and infrastructure: We provide practical help in the construction of buildings and infrastructure by making products, time, financial resources and know-how available.
  • Environment, climate and biodiversity: We promote initiatives that deal with the most important environmental effects of our business activity.
  • Education, training and culture: In this area, we focus on the needs of our locations.

In order to co-ordinate our voluntary activities transparently and efficiently, we have set clear evaluation criteria: We support projects, initiatives and organisations that are active at our locations or to which we have a direct link. In addition, we place a high value on ensuring that the guidelines and principles of these organisations are in harmony with those of HeidelbergCement.
