Strategic options for maxit Group
The Managing Board of HeidelbergCement AG has charged Goldman Sachs with the task to examine all strategic options for maxit Group. The company which is active in more than 30 countries achieved a turnover of around EUR 1.2 billion in 2006. maxit Group is the leading manufacturer of dry mortar in Europe and of expanded clay products worldwide. The successful restructuring of the company, especially in Germany, and the positive development of the international markets led to record results in 2006. The targeted expansion of maxit Group into growing markets and innovative product developments have laid the foundation for further strong growth perspectives.
Dr. Bernd Scheifele, Chairman of the Managing Board of HeidelbergCement AG, declares: “The options include the complete sale of the company, but we also don’t exclude a listing at the stock exchange with HeidelbergCement holding a significant share. maxit is a highly profitable and strongly growing innovative company and the market leader in numerous European countries. As independent advisor, Goldman Sachs shall examine especially the conditions under which maxit will be able to continue its successful development.”
