Poland, with its 38 million inhabitants, is one of the biggest markets in the Central-East part of Europe. After several years of slowdown, the recovery of the construction sector started in 2005. Investments in infrastructure and ecological and residential construction are on the rise, and this trend is expected to continue in the future.
Gorazdze Cement operates a cement plant located at Gorazdze near Opole in southwest Poland and a grinding plant at Katowice. The company produces a broad range of cements, both bulk and bagged, from Portland cement to various kinds of cement with additives utilising slag and fly ash. After the completion of the large technical upgrade in 2003, the Gorazdze plant became one of the most modern and efficient cement plants in Europe.
Gorazdze Beton operates 49 ready-mixed concrete plants located in areas with high construction dynamics and potential for economic growth. HeidelbergCement’s aggregates business in Poland operates under the brand name Gorazdze Kruszywa. Fourteen plants located in southwest and northeast Poland supply the market with various kinds of gravel and sand.
