The market

Indocement was established in 1985. Today, the company operates three cement plants, two on the island of Java and one on the island of Kalimantan. With nine kiln lines, Citeureup on West Java is HeidelbergCement’s biggest cement plant. In addition to different sorts of grey cement and oil well cement Indocement is also the only white cement producer in Indonesia.

Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago and the fourth most populated country with approximately 240 million people. Although total cement consumption is one of the biggest in Southeast Asia with 34 million tonnes per year, per capita consumption is still one of the lowest in the world.
