Foreign languages, project work and assignments abroad for managers or experts are also covered by these programmes.

Statement from our trainees:

  Tobias Mosig
Technical Trainee

I work since the first of July 2010 as a technical trainee for HeidelbergCement. The trainee program offers me a lot of advantages. In this program I have the opportunity to see the different fields of the company and to make myself familiar with the internal operating procedures. In a variety of technical trainings you can go into detail in some questions and technical aspects of various systems can clearly explained. In practical sections of the trainee program, this knowledge can implement into practice.

Immediately after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Amberg (GER) in spring 2010, I started my trainee program in Heidelberg. After working in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Saxony, Thuringia, the Czech Republic and in England I’m now for a project work in Jelsa, Norway.

After more than four month in the company, I have to say, HeidelbergCement AG is a very attractive employer and it’s a great place to work. The company has demonstrated that they have a great interest in my technical and personal development. I appreciate the opportunities I’ve been given.

Brett Philpotts
Technical Trainee,
USA

I enjoy working for Lehigh. The job is varied and I’ve gotten the chance to travel to other locations and to see how things are done in different Cement Plants. The Engineer in Training program has given me the opportunity to learn from more experienced employees and I’ve attended various training programs that have provided me with the information I need to better understand the technical aspects of my job.

The Company has demonstrated that they have a great interest in my growth and development and I appreciate the opportunities I’ve been given. After graduating from Lehigh University in 2006, I was moved directly to the Delta Plant in British Columbia where I have worked with 4 other EIT’s. This experience has allowed me to use my education in Chemical Engineering and working with the other recent graduates has made my time here both challenging and fun. Lehigh Cement Company is a great place to work.
