Career
From 1978 to 1988 Alan Murray held various roles at Chloride Group PLC and Burton Group PLC. He joined Hanson PLC in 1988. He held various senior divisional financial roles and became Assistant Finance Director in 1995 and Finance Director in 1997. He was appointed Chief Executive of Hanson Building Materials America in June 1998 and Chief Executive of Hanson in April 2002. As of 1 October 2007, Alan Murray has been appointed Member of HeidelbergCement’s Managing Board. He is responsible for North America.
