In 2014, the scientific complex of the Tokoin high school (Lycee de Tokoin) in Lomé, Togo, was opened. It was built with the support of the Chinese government.

The center of excellence comprises 47 rooms, 25 laboratories, two amphitheaters of 120 and 300 places, as well as a library, canteen, and multisport stadium with 1,400 seats.

Togo has undertaken a sweeping modernisation of the educational sector, including construction of new schools and high schools, modernisation of existing ones, recruitment of teachers, and modernisation of curriculums.
