Sungai Prai Bridge, Malaysia

The Sungai Prai Bridge links across the Prai River in mainland Penang, Malaysia.

It is a dual three-lane cable-stayed bridge with an approximate length of 1,415 m, as well as an eastern approach viaduct that is 400 m in length and a western approach viaduct of 450 m in length. The main bridge consists of a 185 m long cable-stayed central span with side spans of 50 m. It represents Package 1B of the BORR (Butterworth Outer Ring Road) project.

The Sungai Prai Bridge is winner of the Institution of Structural Engineers’ Supreme Award.

HeidelbergCement's subsidiary delivered ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete elements for this project.
