Rearing Unit Ogestad Mjölk

Ogestad Mjölk, with its two farms and 1,500 dairy cows, is the biggest milk producer in Sweden. Its natural grazing and feed production covers a total land area of 1,450 hectares.

HeidelbergCement’s subsidiary Abetong was recently involved in construction of a new, 4,000 square metre rearing unit for Ogestad, with capacity for 650 calves and heifers.

The deliveries consisted of solid concrete exterior walls, feeders, supporting walls, slit rods, and other structural elements. There were also 270 metres of feeder table top, 270 metres of hoof barrier kerb, and 650 metres of scraper passage kerb.

Abetong has in the past also supplied Ogestad with two cowsheds, numerous bunker silos and fertilizer containers.
