Changes on the Managing Board of HeidelbergCement
The Personnel Committee has decided to recommend to the Supervisory Board of
HeidelbergCement to make the following new appointments:
HeidelbergCement will increase significantly in size following the planned takeover of
Hanson. In order to ensure a rapid integration of this acquisition into the
HeidelbergCement Group, a new Managing Board responsibility will be created. Dr.
Dominik von Achten (41) is intended to be the new head of this Managing Board
responsibility as of 1 October 2007.
Dr. Dominik von Achten has a doctorate in economic policy and is the Responsible Partner & Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group. In this capacity, he headed the successful implementation of the “win” project at HeidelbergCement. He was also heavily involved in the reorganisation of our purchasing activities and the sales optimisation in Europe and North America. These projects produced excellent results and made a considerable contribution to the positive development of our Group. His experience with large integration projects makes Dr. von Achten particularly qualified to take on this extremely complex task.
Dr. Dominik von Achten is married and has four children.
In addition, Dr. Albert Scheuer (50), who joined our company in 1992, is to become a
new member of the Managing Board as of August 2007. Dr. Albert Scheuer has a
doctorate in engineering from the Clausthal University of Technology in Clausthal,
Germany, and has held several important management positions. From 1998 to 2005,
he was in charge of technical support for our European cement plants as Managing
Director of Heidelberg Technology Center. Since 2005, he has been responsible for our activities in China as Chief Operating Officer.
As of 1 August until the end of 2007, he will assume the position of Executive Vice-
President at Lehigh Cement Company in the USA. As of 1 January 2008, Dr. Albert
Scheuer will become President and CEO of Lehigh Cement Company, succeeding
Helmut S. Erhard, who will retire at the end of 2007.
Dr. Albert Scheuer is married and has two children.
