Employee Volunteering Programme
Active and Helpful
Under the motto, “Active and Helpful”, Górazdze Foundation – Active in the Region, launched its Employee Volunteering Programme in 2013. It addresses employees who are willing to dedicate time and skills for the benefit of people in need, social institutions, and their communities. The main goal of the programme is to encourage Górazdze employees to become involved in various forms of voluntary activities by supporting their own ideas and initiatives. For two months, from September till October 2013, the employees had the opportunity to submit their ideas for volunteer activities. By the end of October 2013, Górazdze Foundation had received ten project proposals, of which seven were chosen and granted financial support.
Some projects from the first round of the “Active and Helpful”-Programme
Speech-language therapy practice: Some colleagues from the ready-mixed concrete plant in Brzeg converted the attic at Przecza kindergarten into a speech-language therapy practice. They collected construction materials, purchased the needed equipment, and architecturally modified the attic space to accommodate the needs of the practice. Thanks to this initiative, children from rural areas will benefit from professional therapy services.
“I prefer water”. Another programme launched at a primary school under the slogan: "Mom, Dad, I prefer water" aimed at promoting healthy eating and drinking habits among children. As a result of the project, water dispensers were installed to replace soft drink machines.
